Welcome — You’re Not Alone
The EDS Support Group of Southern Maryland was created as a sanctuary for our local community to find support, understanding, and authentic connection. Living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD) presents unique daily challenges. We built this space to ensure that when those challenges arise, you know exactly where to turn for local resources and a community that truly "gets it."
Why We’re Here
We believe that peer-led support is transformative. By combining our lived experiences with vetted medical resources, we empower our members to navigate their health journeys with confidence.
This website is a gathering place for:
Local Connection: Engaging with neighbors in Southern Maryland through our private community group.
Active Advocacy: Participating in initiatives like the May Social Media Challenge and/or Proclamations to raise awareness and educate the public.
Educational Empowerment: Accessing curated information.
Shared Compassion: Finding encouragement from those who understand the nuances of life with a connective tissue disorder.
Our Commitment
We are a peer-led group dedicated to lifting each other up. We are here to:
Share knowledge that simplifies the path to diagnosis and management.
Foster engagement through monthly community events.
Ensure visibility for the EDS/HSD community in Southern Maryland and beyond.
Everyone Is Welcome
While this space is built with the EDS/HSD community in mind, our doors are open to all. Whether you are navigating your own diagnosis, caring for a loved one, or searching for answers to unexplained symptoms, you belong here.
Support has no boundaries. Community makes us stronger.
